Where does my eSIM work?
Your Atli eSIM can hold plans for different destinations. The plan you are using determines where you have data.
A plan works only in the destinations included in its coverage. Outside those destinations, that plan does not provide data.
What is the difference between a Destination, Regional and Global plan?
- Destination plan: covers one destination.
- Regional plan: covers the destinations included on that region's coverage list.
- Global plan: covers every destination on all seven Regional plan lists.
The seven regions are Europe, Asia, Southeast Asia and Oceania, Latin America, Africa, the Middle East and North America.
Does a Regional plan cover every destination in that part of the world?
No. A Regional plan covers only the destinations on its list. Nearby destinations are not automatically included.
- There is no Caribbean Regional plan. Caribbean destinations are not included in the Latin America Regional plan and are purchased as Destination plans.
- The Europe Regional plan does not include Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia or Israel.
Which plan should I buy?
- One destination: choose a Destination plan.
- Several destinations on the same Regional coverage list: choose that Regional plan.
- Destinations across different Regional lists: check whether a Global plan covers all of them, or buy separate Destination plans.
- A destination that is not on any Regional list: choose its Destination plan. Global will not cover it either.
How do I check which plan covers my destination?
Type the destination name in Atli on WhatsApp or Telegram to see the plans available for it.
For a trip with several stops, check every destination before buying.
Will my plan work everywhere inside a destination?
Coverage still depends on the local partner network. Some rural or remote areas may have limited or no coverage, and busy networks can be slower.
In many destinations, Atli can use more than one supported network. If one is weak or congested, you may be able to try another manually. See Choosing a network manually. 5G availability also depends on partner networks in that destination: Does a travel eSIM support 5G?.
What if my trip goes somewhere my plan doesn't cover?
Buy a plan that covers the new destination. It is added to the Atli eSIM already on your phone, so you do not need another QR code or installation.
The new plan starts when your phone first connects to a supported network in a destination it covers. See Need more data or going somewhere new?.
FAQ
When does a Regional or Global plan start?
It starts when your phone first connects to a supported network in a destination covered by that plan. That can include a stopover or your home destination if it is covered. Buying or installing the eSIM does not start the plan. A plan that hasn't started within 30 days of purchase expires.
Does my plan work on a cruise or a plane?
It may work in port or near the coast when your phone connects to a normal supported mobile network in a covered destination. At sea or in the air, Atli plans do not cover ship or inflight mobile networks. See Does an eSIM work on a cruise?.
Can I use my plan in my home destination?
Yes, if the plan covers it. Connecting there can start the plan, so keep the Atli eSIM switched off until your trip if you do not want it to start at home. See Can I use a travel eSIM in my home country?.
Do I need Data Roaming on in every covered destination?
Yes. Keep Data Roaming on for the Atli eSIM so it can connect to supported partner networks.
Atli does not charge a separate roaming fee for using your plan in a covered destination. Keep Data Roaming off on your own SIM if you want to avoid roaming charges from your mobile carrier.
