Will I keep my WhatsApp number with a travel eSIM?

Yes. Your WhatsApp number stays the same. Atli is data-only, so it does not replace the number registered to your WhatsApp account.

WhatsApp messages and calls can use your Atli data just like they use Wi-Fi.

Can I use WhatsApp with Atli?

Yes. WhatsApp messages, photos and calls use internet data, so they work over your Atli eSIM or Wi-Fi.

You normally do not need to change anything in WhatsApp when installing Atli. If WhatsApp later asks you to verify your number, verification still uses your registered number.

What should I avoid changing in WhatsApp?

• Don't use Change number unless you actually want to move your WhatsApp account to a different phone number.
• Don't delete or reinstall WhatsApp unless necessary.

What if WhatsApp asks me to verify my number?

If WhatsApp asks you to verify your number, follow the verification method shown in WhatsApp.

Any SMS or phone-call verification is sent to your registered phone number through your own carrier, not to the Atli eSIM.

If you need to receive an SMS or call on that number while abroad, make sure your own carrier line is available and supports it at your destination.

Before you travel, add an email address in WhatsApp under Settings › Account › Email address. Once it is added and verified, WhatsApp can send your verification code by email instead of by text or call.

What about two-step verification?

If you use WhatsApp two-step verification, make sure you know your PIN before travelling.
